History of Religion

Though it is missing the inception and spread of the Baha'i Faith, this animation attempts to capture 5,000 Years of religious history in 90 seconds.

From Baha'u'llah: "He that wisheth to promote the Cause of the one true God, let him promote it through his pen and tongue, rather than have recourse to sword or violence."

Victor, in fact this video is quite interesting, despite the small chronological mistakes.

About us, the bahá'ís, I believe that it is too soon to show up in such a video, because we are small dots all accross the world, without any place with a group big enough for the collor to show up. Small dots, indeed, but everywhere, striving for the betterment of the world :-)

Thanks for coming back, posting.

I actually used this in a devotional program...adding quotes from each religion. Culminating with the verse...

"11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

(King James Bible, Isaiah)

Which of course leads us to this time. ;-)

I thought it was quite powerful...but the blinds weren't working so it was hard to see and really get the affect...

Dear Sam,

Thanks for your comment and for the interesting point regarding the distribution of Baha'is around the world.

Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for the great quotation!

Fantastic short diagram! It is amazing to witness from our historical perspective how each dispensation brought an evolving aspect to the collective whole of human socio-cultural evolution. From Buddhism was an Asian civilization, Judaism brought an Israeli/Hebrew civilization that spiritualized the known ancient world, Hinduism brought the Hindu/Indian civilization, Islam an Islamic civilization that spread in every hemisphere though rooting itself in the East, Christianity rooting itself in the West (i.e. Euro-Gentile world) creating a Christian civilization heavily influencing European culture, spiritualizing the known world and developing worldwide!

One point of discrepancy. The timeline of the Manifestations of God are a bit off. Historically it goes: Abraham, Moses, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Christ, Muhammad.
